Forging Peace Together: Rotary Ipoh Central and Our Project Partners

Rotary Ipoh Central is passionately dedicated to building a more peaceful world. This critical mission is powerfully advanced through strategic collaborations, especially as we seek and implement Rotary Global Grant for impactful peace-building projects. We are honored to work alongside distinguished project partners who bring unique expertise and shared vision to our peace initiatives.

Our efforts are significantly strengthened by the contributions of these key organizations:

  • Asean Rotary Peace Builders: This vital initiative, in which Rotary Ipoh Central plays an active role, is committed to fostering a culture of peace across the ASEAN region. It focuses on empowering individuals, particularly youth, with the knowledge and skills in conflict prevention, resolution, and peace leadership. By developing 'Youth Peacebuilders,' the initiative aims to create a sustainable network of peace advocates dedicated to intercultural understanding and community-based peace efforts.

  • Institute for Economics and Peace (IEP): An internationally respected research organization, IEP is dedicated to demonstrating that peace is a positive, tangible, and achievable measure of human well-being and progress. Known for its data-driven approach, including the influential Global Peace Index and frameworks for Positive Peace, IEP provides invaluable research and insights that inform our strategies and help us measure the impact of our peace projects, ensuring they are built on a foundation of evidence and understanding.

  • Mediators Beyond Borders International (MBBI): With a mission to build local skills for peace and promote mediation globally, MBBI is a crucial partner in equipping communities with the tools to prevent, resolve, and heal from conflict. Their expertise in conflict transformation, trauma-informed peacebuilding, and dialogue facilitation enriches our projects, enabling us to foster deeper reconciliation and sustainable peace. Rotary International and MBBI share a formal partnership, underscoring the synergy between our goals.

  • Sunway University, Malaysia: As a leading institution deeply committed to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including SDG 16 for Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions, Sunway University brings academic rigor and a dedication to community well-being to our collaborative peace projects. Through its Jeffrey Sachs Center on Sustainable Development and various campus-wide initiatives, Sunway University contributes by fostering research, promoting sustainable practices, and educating a new generation of socially responsible leaders, aligning perfectly with our aim to build lasting peace through education and community engagement. Our collaborative Youth Peacebuilders program often involves working with academic institutions like Sunway University to deliver impactful training.

The synergy with these partners is fundamental to the success of our Rotary Global Grant project focused on peace. Each organization brings a wealth of knowledge, experience, and resources that amplify our capacity to create meaningful and lasting change. Figures within Rotary Ipoh Central, such as Past District Governor Bindi Rajasegaran, have been pivotal in forging and nurturing these collaborations, driving forward a comprehensive vision for peace.

Together with the Asean Rotary Peace Builders, the Institute for Economics and Peace, Mediators Beyond Borders International, and Sunway University, Rotary Ipoh Central is more effective and far-reaching in its mission. We are building bridges of understanding, empowering communities, and championing the cause of peace with a united front.

We extend our deepest gratitude to these project partners for their profound commitment and collaborative spirit. Your partnership is instrumental as we continue to work towards a world where peace prevails.
